Dear Friends of International Sanctuary,
Walking into a restaurant in Phonm Penh, Cambodia, I will never forget the image I saw…girls wall to wall---for sale! My eyes batted closed as I stepped backwards out of the doors, trying to erase the image I saw. But it was entrenched in my mind. Numerous encounters like this ingrained in me a deep passion for justice to see girls achieve FREEDOM.
There are more than 27 million trafficking victims in the world today, more than ever before. With the increase in awareness, more rescues are made. Great work is being done to rescue victims out of this horror, but THEN WHAT? The world is ill prepared to take care of them. Knowing there are still victims out there that need an opportunity to rebuild their lives, fuels International Sanctuary’s persistence to diligently work until each and every woman is restored and living in true freedom.
2016 has been a monumental year! We have successfully launched The Academy, a groundbreaking, comprehensive personal development program that addresses the many varying needs of trafficking survivors around the world. Our Professional Opportunities for Survivors of Trafficking (POST) program has also relaunched in Orange County; here participants are assisted with specific needs and taught computer skills, language lessons, and financial skills. We have also witnessed the results of International Sanctuary’s work, proving our sustainable model restores the lives of victims escaping sex trafficking. But we need your help to reach more girls and young women around the world. Our Sanctuary in Tijuana, Mexico is opening soon and our Sanctuary in Kampala, Uganda will open in early 2017.
We have seen the impact of the iSanctuary model come to fruition with the launch of The Academy. Since the birth of the organization nine years ago, we have seen and continue to watch young women who are…
· Pursuing higher education to impact their communities.
· Taking on positions of professional leadership to equip young women to be the next generation of decision makers.
· Becoming teachers, bookkeepers, even studying in law school to help other women be restored to all God has created them to be.
· Getting married and having babies – breaking the trafficking cycle for a new generation.
You can help open a new sanctuary today! Your support is critical in helping us reach more girls and young women escaping sex trafficking. Would you consider giving today to help us open the doors of our next two sanctuaries?
We thank you in advance for your support! Your donation is greatly appreciated and will be used to serve young women escaping trafficking in Mexico and Uganda.
